The Position Internship Purpose:  This 12-month internship offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience of global medical affairs activities at an innovative and patient-centric global pharmaceutical company. You will be working on a project in the Ophthalmology or Nephrology disease area that aims at fostering scientific exchange between Roche and medical professionals, healthcare providers and patients. Through this role, you will take specific project responsibilities to help transform worldwide clinical practices with innovative medicines. This opportunity will enable you to establish a solid network for building and expanding your future career.# Primary Responsibilities  Take responsibility of specific global medical affairs activities and contribute to project goals by learning and understanding the impact of medical affairs on company’s product development and commercialisation goals Support daily activities as a full member of the project team Proactively build knowledge and increase understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and healthcare ecosystem Professional and Technical Requirements:  Education/Qualifications  You are currently pursuing your MD, PharmD, or Bachelor’s (BSc)/Master’s (MSc) or PhD degree in Life Sciences or other sciences with a demonstrated interest in healthcare. Skills or experiences in digital sciences and/or innovation are a plus.   In order to be eligible, this 12-month internship must be a mandatory part of your studies. Please provide a document issued by your university confirming this. If you are pursuing a PhD, this document is not required. Skills, Knowledge, Experience :  High ethical standards Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively in an international set-up  Good interpersonal skills, ability to build strong sustainable relationships with internal and external stakeholders  Excellent command of written and spoken business English  Good presentation skills Growth mindset - interest to learn in an international environment Desire to make an impact in the healthcare ecosystem Problem-solving skills: critical thinking, decision-making, creativity, and information processing Ability to operate successfully in a matrix environment with shared accountability and responsibilities Basic understanding of the drug development process and project management is a plus The preferred start date is February/March 2024 (flexible).
